What is New in Version 15.50?
In version 15.50 an error showing more than 100% depreciation for double/triple shift has been corrected. Like previous versions, 15.50 calculates depreciation rounding up the completed years to the nearest integer.
Version 11.15 is however not recommended as the taking fractional useful lives is not intended by Schedule-II. .

These calculator is meant for companies following April to March Financial year. Also the calculator is meant only for tangible assets.

Error noticed if any, can be reported at info@abcaus.in. Also the download page may be bookmarked for revised versions.

How to use this calculator?
The calculator has been divided into five part as under:

(a) Assets
(b) Opening Details
(c) Additions
(d) Opening Deletions, and
(e) Depreciation Chart

In each part only “grey” fields are required to be filled.

1.    Assets
Assets database should be created by providing the common name of the assets and by selecting the asset type as per schedule-II. Please note that no two names should be identical. Please note that if the opening wdv of any type of asset consist of multiple individual assets and each of the individual assets have different date of purchase or use and also their wdv is significant to the total wdv of that asset type, it must be broken down in this sheet.

2.    Opening Balances: Excel Utility to get Opening WDV from date of Additions Click Here >>
In the Opening Balance Sheet, the following particulars are required to be given:
(a)      WDV as on 31-03-2014
(b)      Date of Purchase/use
(c)      If the asset was sold in FY 2014-15, Select “Yes” or “No” from the drop down menu
(d)      Residual Value as on 01-04-2014

Date of format should be dd/mm/yyyy. If an assets has been sold during FY 2014-15, it must also be reflected so in “Opening-Deletions” sheet

Residual value  of the asset is required to be filled. Please note that Note No. 05 to Part-C of Schedule-II restricting the residual value to 5% of the original cost of the asset has been omitted. However it may be kept that way.Please ensure that residual value is not NIL.

Rest of the information should be calculated automatically.

3.    Additions made during the year         
Date of format should be dd/mm/yyyy. If any disposal has been made out of additions during the year, its details must be filled in columns ‘e” and “f” after selecting “Yes” in column “d”

4.    Opening-Deletion
This sheet accounts for any deletion that has been made out of the opening assets, (i.e.; out of opening sheet)

The carrying amounts and date of purchase should be selected out of drop down menu.

This sheet must be filled after completing the ‘Opening sheet”. For any subsequent changes in “opening sheet”, carrying amount and date of purchase must be reselected from the drop down list.

Original price/carrying amount of asset sold

For sale of assets that have been bought during the year, original price should be given. For sale of assets out of opening block, carrying amount as on 31-03-2014 should be given

5.    Depreciation Chart
Assets should be selected from the drop down list and rest should be automatically calculated.

The calculator is meant to guide and help in calculating the depreciation, the disclosure requirements have to be separately taken care of.
