Income Tax-Electronic Filing of ITR-5 and ITR-7 made compulsory

As per Income Tax Notification 24/2014 dated 1 ^st April,2014, e-filing of Income Tax Return
ITR-5 and Income Tax Return ITR-7 have been made compulsory effective from AY 2014-15.

ITR-5 : For Firms, AoP and BoI

The ITR-5 is required to be filed electronically either under digital signature or electronically and there after submitting verification inform ITR-V.

ITR-7 : For persons including companies required to file ITR u/s 139(4A), 139(4B), 139(4C) or 139(4D)

The ITR-7 is also required to be filed electronically either under digital signature or electronically and thereafter submitting verification inform ITR-V. However ITR-7 of a Political Party u/s 139(4B) shall be filed electronically under digital signature.
