The Company Secretaries (Amendment) Regulations 2020
Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has amended the Company Secretaries Regulations, 1980 which was published in compliance of the Company Secretaries Act, 1980.
Under the amended Regulations, misconduct has been defined in relation to a registered student or a candidate enrolled for any examination conducted by the Institute of Company Secretaries (Institute/ICSI) or a candidate undergoing practical training or any other training.

No o Associate member shall be admitted as a fellow member whose name has been removed on being found guilty of any professional or other misconduct or who has not completed prescribed minimum numbers of Professional Development Credit Hours.
Every Company Secretary pay annual membership fee to ICSI along with a Certificate of certificate of living and Know Your Member (KYM) declaration
Members have to pay Annual Fee if they are in a gainful employment or in practice irrespective of the age.
However, member who are physically challenged, irrespective of his age, shall pay only half of the annual membership fee. Also, a member who is apart from physically challenged is also of the age of seventy years or above, shall pay one-eighth of the annual membership fee.
COP shall stand cancelled if the member ceases to be an Indian National.
The Company Secretaryship Course shall have two programmes, namely:-
(1) Executive Programme; and
(2) Professional Programme:
(1) A Student shall complete the training as Executive Development Programme (EDP) for one month duration after passing of Executive Programme examination and practical training for twenty one months after completion of Executive Development Programme.
Now the practical training can be done in a company having a company secretary in whole time employment
A member in practice may form multi-disciplinary firm with the member of
other professional bodies
