GST e-way bill system postponed in UP

Earlier, Commissioner Commercial Tax Uttar Pradesh has formulated process for form downloading and madated use of e-way bill from 26th July, 2017.

However as per the Office Order issued, it has been stated that trade organisations, transport associations etc had demanded postponement of e-way bill system for some time. Apart from that dealers of fabrics, textiles etc. had also informed that hitherto fabrics, textiles were exempt from VAT but now made taxable under GST regime, therefore textile and fabric dealers need some time for obtaining registration under GST.

In view of the above, the effective date of for implementation of e-way bill system has been postponed to 16/08/2017 in place of 26/07/2017.
