Extension of due date of filing Audit Reports to 31.10.2025 & ITR to 16.09.2025 AY 2025-26

CBDT extends due date of filing audit reports for AY 2025-26 from 30.09.2025 to 31.10.2025

CBDT finally bow down to the pressure and demands for extension of due dates for furnishing audit reports from 30.09.2025 to 31.10.2025. The decision of the CBDT to extend due date came after High Court of Rajasthan & Karnataka has already extended the due date for filing audit reports. CBDT has issued Circular No. 14/2025 extending the due dates of audit.

A Press Release has been issued in this regard. Formal order is likely to be issued soon.

Earlier CBDT had extended due date of 15.09.2025 by one day to 16.09.2025 for filing Income Tax Return.

CBDT finally extended the due date of 15.09.2025 by only one day i.e. to 16.09.2025 for filing Income Tax Return despite lots of hue and cry made by tax professionals for the technical glitches in tax efiling portal as reported by income tax return filers across the country.
