Income Tax Offices to remain open till midnight on 5th August 2015 for receiving ITRs in view of the extended last date for filing ITR by certain categories

Order under Section 119(1) of the Income-tax Act. 1961

For Assessment Year 2017-18, the ‘due-date’ for filing of return of income in cases of certain categories of tax payers has been extended till 5th August ,2017 vide order of CBDT u/s 119 of the Income Tax Act,1961 dated 31.07.2017. In order to facilitate filing of returns on 5th August , 2017, being Saturday, the Central Board of Direct Taxes in exercise of powers conferred under section 119 hereby directs that necessary arrangements be made for receiving income tax returns on that date up to midnight in all income tax-offices throughout the country. This instruction may be given vide publicity.
