Sir/Madam,

Subject: Expeditious disposal of applications for rectification under section 154 of the Income tax Act, 1961('Act') during the F.Y. 2015-16-regarding

Vide letter dated 11.6.2015, Board had sought a status report regarding pending rectification applications (age-wise) along with specific comments for the pendency. A reminder was also issued subsequently on 3'' July, 2015. However, till date very few charges have submitted the requisite report.

2. In this regard, I am directed to state that the pending report may please be submitted immediately in the Board. The consolidated report for the entire jurisdiction along with reasons for pendency should be submitted in the following format:

Total number of rectification applications pending as on 31.302015

Disposal till 30th June, 2015 out of (1)

Balance pending (1- 2)

Age-wise break-up of balance pending

Upto 6 Months

Between 6 months to one year

Above one year
