Why are we writing and making representation to CBDT and Ministry trying to explain and beg an extension. We are not beggars who need to compromise with our dignity in making continual representation which is falling on deaf ears. Making roving requests both compromises our dignity and makes a mockery of our sincerity.
Instead of painstakingly writing to MoF/CBDT we should write to auditees that in view of the difficulties, we would not be able to perform the task of tax auditors including uploading the tax Audit Reports. We should give a crisp and concise note that due to delays on the part of CBDT in first notifying ITRs, secondly in making available the utilities and third in enabling the e-filing utilities has rendered the the proper and timely compliance impossible
We should advise the auditees that they are free to explore other alternatives for which we would have no hesitation in granting NoC. This is high time that dignity, not the fees should be the guiding light.
Imagine a situation where thousands of auditees would take the fight with CBDT and/or MoF and not us they way we do it always. Let us concentrate on the quality work and do what we can do within the time available. Let us not waste our energy in speculating and pinning our hopes on or fear extension/non-extension by court or otherwise.
