Justice (Retd.) Pinaki Chandra Ghose appointed the first Lokpal of India
The President of India has appointed Justice (Retd.) Shri Pinaki Chandra Ghose as the first Lokpal of India.
Shri Pinaki Chandra Ghose (born 28 May 1952) is a retired judge of the Supreme Court of India. Prior to his elevation to the Supreme Court, he had served as Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court, and before that, as a Justice of the Calcutta High Court. He is presently a member of the National Human Rights Commission.
