How to do Public Search of a Patent

Controller general of Patents Designs and Trademarks (CGPDTM) has launched a dynamic utility which will allow the public to conduct a search to ascertain the status of a patent. Apart from that the following information can also be viewed:

1. Patents which have expired, i.e. the 20 years term is over.
2. Patents which have ceased to have effect by reason of failure to pay the renewal fee.
3. Patents, according to their Number, Title & Technical / Scientific field, which have expired or have ceased to have effect by reason of failure to pay the renewal fee.

Utility for Public Search Status of a Patent
