How to Convert Microsoft Word or Excel documents and files into pdf format using freeware pdf convertor software

There are number of freeware software to convert documents into pdf formats. Almost all of these are typically work as Microsoft Windows Printers by creating and installing a dummy printer (under printers options) and a document can be converted into pdf by selecting the pdf printer under print option.
My favourite software is
pdf-redirect
which allows to:

convert any document into a pdf format
(b)
merge two pdf documents
(c)
optimize picture quality and file size (to reduce file size)
(d)
set password to open pdf
(e)
preview

Steps to Download and Install
After you go to the website as above do the following:
1. Click on green button
2. This will take you to CNET Website, Click on Download Button
and
Save the application file Install_PDFR_v252.exe
3.
After download completes, run the application and follow instructions.
This will install the software.
Under the Control Panel > Device and Printers,
you can notice the icon of PDF Printer
Steps to Convert Document into PDF
Open the document you want to convert (say, MS Word Document)
Give print command Control+p and under printers option, select, PDF redirect v2 and click OK
In the next window, Under Folders Choose the location of pdf file, under print quality set the picture quality and file size, under security, set a password to open (if required). Under filename write a name and click save to get your document in pdf format. Before saving, you can view it in the preview pane. If the the option “view in pdf reader after saving” is checked, it will open the file after saving it.
Steps to Merge Two different PDF Documents into One (say document-1 and document-2)
Put the document 1 and 2 in the same location (say desktop)
Open the PDF redirect Software
Under Folders heading click on desktop, under Files, it will show both the documents.
Use Control Shift to select Document-1 and 2 and Drag to Merge List window
Use Blue coloured arrow keys to set the order of the documents for merging
View the merged files in preview pan and save it with a new name
