As per section 458 of the Companies Act, 2013, the Central Government may, by  notification, and subject to such conditions, limitations and restrictions asmay be specified therein, delegate any of its powers or functions under this Act other than the power to make rules to such authority or officer as may be specifiedin the notification.

Central Government has by notification dated 21-05-2014 delegated to the Registrar of Companies, the power and functions under the following sections:

-   Section 4(2) related to condition that the name stated in the Memorandum is not undesirable

-   Section 8(1) related to issue of License for registration of an association of person with charitable objects as limited company without the words Limited or Private Limited

-   Section 8(4)(i) related to alteration of Memorandum or Articles for AOP registered as limited companies, except for alteration of memorandum in case of conversion into another kind of company  

-   Section 8(5) related to power to register a company under section 8

-   Section 13(2) related to the requirement of written approval of change in name of a company.

 

This notiflcation shall come into force from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
