UP Police Dial-100 Mobile Application-UP-100 Emergency Services

Chief Minister Shri Akhilesh Yadav on 5^th October, 2016 inaugurated much awaited and much talked new Project UP-100. UP-100 is the new name given to Dial-100 Emergency police services. It is claimed that police shall reach the user within 5-10 minutes. As per media reports, initially a fleet of nearly 5000 police vehicles have been deputed on this project  and each vhicle shall run a minimum of 150 kilometer per day.

This app is intended to assist citizens in emergencies relating to public safety and security. In case of an emergency, information like gender, age, location, language will assist the police respond faster and in a more convenient manner. Police emergency services for public safety and security are being provided. These services shall be provided 24 X 7 throughout the State of Uttar Pradesh, including the rural areas.

If one is registered with UP100, in case of an emergency, the information already available will help the Police to reach faster. We will also attempt to improve our services for women and senior citizens and provide customized services.

Apart from the identification information, the following information may be registered:

1. My Emergency Contacts: Up to 5 emergency contacts may be registered. In case of emergency, SMS will be sent to all registered contacts from the user’s mobile phone.

2. My Locations: Up to 5 locations of choice may be registered. Public may register locations like My Home, My Parents Home, My Daughter’s School, My Bank, etc. The geographical coordinates of the location will be registered. When a registered user calls UP100 in case of an emergency, his/her registered locations will be displayed on the police officer’s screen. This will assist us to locate the place of emergency faster to save critical time.

3. My Languages: Public may register known languages. You may indicate if you are willing to assist others in emergencies as a ‘Translation Volunteer’. This is intended to assist any person who speaks only a language for which a Communication Officer is not available with UP100.

If anyone has close relatives living in UP, he will be able to call UP100 from outside UP, and indicate the location quickly where emergency services are needed. This registration will help in minimizing critical time at the time of responding to emergency.

How to download UP Police Dial-100 Mobile Application

After successful downloading the App, you shall be required to select your language, accept terms and conditions and then register yourself with the following details:

1. Name
2. Email
3. Mobile Number
4. Alternate Mobile No.

Two OTPs shall be sent to both email and through Text SMS and after entering OTPs you shall be registered and be able to use the APP.

However as per Play Store, the Application is still an unreleased one and may be unstable.

On testing (06-10-2016) it stumbled miserably in sending OTPs
