Excel Utility for ITR-1, ITR-2 and ITR-4 available for e-filing for AY 2026-27

Income Tax Department has released Excel Utility for e-filing ITR-1, ITR-2 and ITR-4 for AY 2026-27 and Common Offline Utility for ITR-1 and ITR-4

Excel utilities of ITR-1 and ITR-4 are now available at e-filing portal. Rest of the ITR Forms can be expected shortly. It may be recalled that in 2015, Delhi High Court held that there is no right is available to the assessees for 180 days for filing of ITR. However, the High Court directed the Govt. shall record the reasons for delay in notifying ITRs from next assessment year. 

The excel utilities of ITRs made available so far are as under:

ITR 1 for AY 2026-27

For individuals being a resident (other than not ordinarily resident) having total income upto Rs.50 lakh and having Income from Salaries, two house properties, other sources (Interest etc.), long-term capital gains under section 112A up to Rs. 1.25 lakh, and agricultural income up to Rs. 5 thousand

ITR-4 for AY 2026-27
For Individuals, HUFs and Firms (other than LLP) being a resident having total income upto Rs. 50 lakh and having income from business and profession which is computed under sections 44AD, 44ADA or 44AE, and having long-term capital gains under section 112A upto Rs. 1.25 lakh

ITR-2
For Individuals and HUFs not having income from profits and gains of business or profession.
