Extension of due date of 31st July 2024 for filing ITR for AY 2024-25 – PIB Fact Check
There has been a misleading social media post about extension of due date from 31st July 2024 to 31st August 2024 for filing ITR for AY 2024-25.
PIB has checked the facts stated that the advisory in circulation has been issued by the office of Press Registrar General of India and on social media is being misconstrued as extension of due date for filing ITR.
It has been clarified that the advisory is NOT related to extension of date of filing ITR. The due date for filing ITR is 31 July 2024 and the due date has not been extended.
