New ITR-2 has been notified on 23-06-2015 vide Notification No. 49/2015/ F.No.142/1/2015-TPL . This Return Form is to be used by an individual or HUF whose total income for the assessment year 2015-16 includes:-
(a) Income from Salary / Pension; or
(b) Income from House Property; or
(c) Income from Capital Gains; or
(d) Income from Other Sources (including Winning from Lottery and Income from Race Horses).
Further, in a case where the income of another person like spouse, minor child, etc. is to be clubbed with the income of the assessee, this Return Form can be used where such income falls in any of the above categories.

Apart from the normal information required hitherto the following additional information is required for the much debated aspects of bank accounts/Foreign travel/foreign income or assets in the newly notified ITR-2.
1. ITR-2 is of 3 Pages excluding Schedules. With Schedule it is 13 Pages in all.
2. Details of Bank Accounts:
2.1 Details of dormant bank accounts are not required to be given
2.2 Details of all bank accounts held in India at any time are required to be given
2.3 The following details are required to be given:
(a)   Total number of Savings Bank Account
(b)   IFS Code
(c)   Bank Name
(d)   Account Number (9 Digits or more as per Banks CBS)
(e)   Type of Account (Savings/Current)

3. Following Details of Foreign Assets/Income/Account is required to be Given in Yes/No Form
3.1 Foreign Asset ( beneficial owner, beneficiary or otherwise)
3.2 If signing authority in any account located outside India
3.3 income from any source outside India
Detailed Information is required to be furnished in Schedule FA if the answer is a Yes

4. Schedule FSI- Details of Income from outside India and tax relief claimed
5. Schedule TR- Summary of tax relief claimed for taxes paid outside India is required to be given
6. Schedule FA- Details of Foreign Assets and Income from any source outside India
6.1 Details of Foreign Bank Accounts held (including any beneficial interest)
6.1.1 Country Name and Code
6.1.2 Name and Address of the Bank
6.1.3 Account holder name
6.1.4 Status- Owner/ Beneficial owner/Beneficiary
6.1.5 Account Number
6.1.6 Account opening date
6.1.7  Peak Balance During the Year (in rupees)
6.1.8 Interest accrued in the account
6.1.9 Interest taxable and offered in this return
6.2 Details of Financial Interest in any Entity held (including any beneficial interest)
6.2.1 Country Name and code
6.2.2 Nature of entity
6.2.3 Name and Address of the Entity
6.2.4 Nature of Interest-Direct/ Beneficial owner/ Beneficiary
6.2.5 Date since held
6.2.6 Total Investment (at cost) (in rupees)
6.2.7 Income accrued from such Interest
6.2.8 Nature of Income
6.2.9 Income taxable and offered in this return
6.3 Details of Immovable Property held (including any beneficial interest) at any time
6.3.1  Country Name and code
6.3.2 Address of the Property
6.3.3 Ownership-Direct/ Beneficial owner/ Beneficiary
6.3.4 Date of acquisition
6.3.5 Total Investment (at cost) (in rupees)
6.3.6 Income derived from the property
6.3.7 Nature of Income
6.3.8 Income taxable and offered in this return
6.4. Details of trusts, created under the laws of a country outside India, in which you assessee is a trustee, beneficiary or settlor
6.4.1 Country Name and code
6.4.2 Name and address of the trust
6.4.3 Name and address of trustees
6.4.4 Name and address of Settlor
6.4.5 Name and address of Beneficiaries
6.4.6 Date since position held
6.4.7 Whether income derived is taxable in your hands?
6.4.8 If (8) is yes, Income derived from the trust
6.4.9 If (8) is yes, Income offered in this return
6.5 Details of any other income derived from any source outside India
6.5.1 Country Name and code
6.5.2 Name and address of the person from whom derived
6.5.3 Income derived
6.5.4 Nature of income
6.5.5 Whether taxable in your hands?
6.5.6 If (6) is yes, Income offered in this return
Who cannot use this Return Form?
This Return Form should not be used by an individual or a Hindu Undivided Family whose total income for the assessment year 2015-16 includes Income from Business or Profession.
