WhatsApp Messages/Calls end to end Encryption-Step-wise procedures

How to enable WhatsApp end-to-end encryption

WhatsApp Messenger has introduced the facility of end-to-end encryption when messages are sent using the latest versions 2.12.556.

According to WhatsAPP, there are many other messaging apps that only encrypt messages between users and them, but WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption ensures that only you and the person you’re communicating with can read what is sent, and nobody in between, not even WhatsApp.

In the latest security measures of Whatsapp the messages sent are secured with a lock, and only the recipient and the sender have the special key needed to unlock and read them. For added protection, every message send has its own unique lock and key. Above all, this feature is automatic and there is no need to turn on settings or set up special secret chats to secure the messages.

Steps/Procedures to enable Encryption of message:

Please note that encryption is required to be enabled individually with each WhatsApp friend. Both the sender and the receiver of the message should be together along with their mobile phones to initiate and complete this process.

1. Make sure you and your friends have the latest version 2.12.556.

2. Send a message to the WhatsApp friend (say receiver), you want to secure messages with

end encryption. Tap for more info.”

4. This would take to the following screen, click on “verify”

5.  This would take you to “Verify Security Code” screen as under:

6. Open the WhatsApp chat window in friends (receiver) phone and click on the yellow notification.

7. This would open Security Code (similar as in step 4 above) on your friend’s phone.

8.  Now, in your phone (sender’s phone) click on “Scan Code” and point the round scan circle to the Security code in friend’s phone.

Let the process complete.
