Pensioners Life Certificate submission due date extended to 15-01-2017. Last date of November extended for government pensioners 

As per the Press Release of Ministry of Finance (Department of Economic Affairs) dated 13th Nov, 2016, in view of the problems faced by the citizens in the distribution of the new bank currency notes of the denomination of Rs. 500 and 1000, the Government  has taken few steps.

As per the said press release, the last date for submission of the annual life certificate for the government pensioners which is to be submitted in November every year has been extended up to January 15, 2017.

Note:
It is estimated that there are one crores pensioners in the Country and approx 50 lakh individuals draw pension from the Central Government and a similar number draw pension from State and Union Territory Governments. Several PSUs also provide pension benefits. Over 25 lakh retired personnel draw pension from the Armed Forces. As per the existing rules, pensioners are required to submit a copy of physical Life Certificate/digital Jeevan praman in November each year to ensure continuity of pension being credited into his/her account.
