ICAI removes name of five CAs for Professional Misconduct from Members’ Register from one month to 4 1/2 years

No. PR/303/13/DD/293/13/DC/510/16.—In terms of the provisions of Section 21B(3) of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949read with Rules 18(17) and 19(1) of the Chartered Accountants (Procedure of Investigations of Professional and Other Misconduct and Conduct of Cases) Rules, 2007, the Disciplinary Committee has held CA. Raj Seckhar M S (Membership No. 200772), Mecheri Manor 2, S R Iyer Layout, Near All India Radio, Coimbatore, guilty of Professional Misconduct falling within the meaning of Clause (7) of Part I of the Second Schedule to the aforesaid Act and consequently ordered for removal of the name of aforesaid CA. Raj Seckhar M S (Membership No. 200772) from the Register of Members for a period of 01(One) month. In pursuance thereof and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 20 of the aforesaid Act, read with Regulation 18 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, it is hereby notified that the name of said CA. Raj Seckhar M S (Membership No. 200772), shall stand removed from the Register of Members for a period of 01 (one) month with effect from 25th September, 2020.

In pursuance thereof and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 20 of the aforesaid Act, read with Regulation 18 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, it is hereby notified that the name of said CA. Shailendra Srivastava (Membership No. 401597), 117/22-A, N Block, Rani Ganj, Kakadeo, Kanpur-208 025, guilty of Professional Misconduct falling within the meaning of Clauses(8) & (9) of Part I of the First Schedule and Clause (1) of Part II of the Second Schedule to the aforesaid Act and consequently ordered for removal of the name of aforesaid CA. Shailendra Srivastava (Membership No. 401597) from the Register of Members for a period of 06 (Six) months and also imposed a fine of Rs. 10,000/-(Ten Thousand)only. In pursuance thereof and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 20 of the aforesaid Act, read with Regulation 18 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, it is hereby notified that the name of said CA. Shailendra Srivastava (Membership No. 401597), shall stand removed from the Register of Members for a period of 06 (Six) months with effect from 25th September, 2020.

Hemant Tulsidas Merchant (Membership No. 033805) from the Register of Members for a period of 18( Eighteen) months in first case and additionally 3 years in the second case. In pursuance thereof and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section(2) of Section 20 of the aforesaid Act, read with Regulation 18 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, it is hereby notified that the name of said CA. Hemant Tulsidas Merchant (Membership No. 033805), shall stand removed from the Register of Members for a total period of 4(four) years and 6 (six) months with effect from 25th September, 2020.
