ICAI to debar student taking mobile phones inside the examination hall for 5 years

As per ICAI Announcement, it has decided to debar student taking mobile phones inside the examination hall for 5 years 

As per the policy of Examination Department of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, among others, possession of Mobile Phone or any other electronic device / gadgets are strictly prohibited inside the examination centre during Chartered Accountants Examinations.

As per announcement, it was observed during the May 2024 Chartered Accountants Examinations, that few students took mobile phone in the examination hall and some telegram group/WhatsApp group/other channels of communication were found in their mobile phones. All the mobile phones had been confiscated, and reports were taken from the Examination Centre and other Functionaries.

The Examination Committee of the Institute, has taken a serious view of above and decided to debar all such candidates, who were involved in tarnishing the image of the Institute by taking mobile phones inside the examination hall, for the next 5 years from appearing in the Chartered Accountants Examinations.

ICAI has warned students and advised them to go through the Instructions to Examinees provided along with the admit card, carefully and familiarize themselves with the same to ensure the compliance in letter and spirit

• AO is under an obligation to assign reasons for rejecting explanation of the assessee
• CBIC issues SoP for clearance of imported goods through Foreign Post Offices
• Sale deed executed with full knowledge of only part consideration paid, not void – SC
• No fault in serving notice to last known address when PAN data was not updated – ITAT
• Investment by firm through capital introduced by partners cannot be treated as unexplained
