The Hon’ble Kerala High Court has directed the Income Tax Officer to allow a petitioner to file IT returns through manual filing without insisting on Aadhaar number / Enrolment No., pending disposal of the writ petition.
This interim relief was granted in a writ petition (W.P.(C) 26033/2017) filed by Prasanth Sugathan, Legal Director at SFLC.in challenging the mandatory requirement as per Section 139AA of the amended Income Tax Act, 1961 to quote Aadhaar number or enrolment ID for filing Income tax returns.
