TDS JAGRUKTA movie 

TDS- JAGRUKTA a movie by DTRTI, Kolkata in English, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Telgu, Tamil &Kannad has been released by Shri Gopal Mukherjee, Member ( Rev & TPS), CBDT.

The Video starts with a sholk from Sanskrit followed by a short story of how a disgruntled employee blaming his employer for less salary than promised, unaware of provisions of TDS that has resulted into cut…..

In the story is about a man who was frustrated as despite is salary hike, he has not received the increase due to TDS deduction and his wife was suspecting that he was hiding the amount from her. Similarly another person also shares that his son who was a contractor has not received full amount of the contract but only after deduction of tax. Again, another employee regrets that bank has deducted TDS on interest on Fixed deposits. Another one was frustrated by TDS on rent.

Later on their myths are put to rest by their Boss by explaining TDS provisions in details.

In the later part, the video deals with the consequences of not depositing TDS into the Government account or not filing of TDS returns. By creating a mock survey scene, the video shows that how a survey can unearth non deposit of TDS which could bring attachment of bank accounts etc. and recover can be made by sale of both immovable or moveable property

The video also explains where the money collected through TDS goes and how it is utilized.

At the end of the video, with his knowledge of the TDS provisions, the frustrated man is happy and no more angry with TDS deductions from his salary.
