Notice for publication of name must be given to tax defaulter assessee
In a recent letter written by CBDT to all the Income Tax Commissioners asking for reconfirmation of the details of tax defaulting assessees in cases where undisputed outstanding demand/tax exceeds Rs.1 crore as on 31.03.2017. As per the letter, these names of the defauletrs are to be submitted for approval of the Hon’ble Finance Minister by July, 2017.
The letter expressley provides that the notice for publication of name must invariably be given to assessee.
