Central Government constitutes the National Traders Welfare Board

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 26th July, 2019
F.No. P-55015/2/2019-Internal Trade.—The Central Government hereby constitutes the ‘National Traders’ Welfare Board’ to advise the Government for the fulfillment of the following objectives:
i. To identify policy measures to achieve the objective of welfare of traders and their employees.
ii. To suggest simplifications in the Acts and Rules applicable to traders.
iii. To make recommendations to reduce the compliance burden of traders.
iv. To improve access to funds for traders.
v. To make recommendations regarding social security benefits like insurance, pension, healthcare etc., for traders and their employees.
vi. To make recommendations to address any other problems and issues of traders and their employees.
2. The Board shall consist of the following members, namely:—

3. Joint Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (dealing with Internal Trade) shall be the Convener of the Board. Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade shall provide secretarial assistance to the National Traders’ Welfare Board.
4. Representatives of following Ministries may also be invited for the meetings:

5. The Board shall meet at least once in every quarter. Quorum of the meeting shall be one-third of the total Members of the Board.
6. Travelling/Dearness Allowances to the Members of the Board other than Official Members abcaus.in shall be regulated as per M/o Finance, Department of Expenditure’s OM No. 19047/1/2016-E-IV dated 14th September, 2017.
7. The term of office of the Chairperson and Members of the Board other than the Official Members shall be two years from the date of appointment, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
