ICAI (Global Networking) Guidelines, 2025 kept in abeyance
In February 2026, ICAI had issued ICAI (Global Networking) Guidelines 2025 to promote Networking amongst one or more Chartered Accountant firm (s), Networks and other entities registered with ICAI with networks or entities established and registered outside India in their respective jurisdiction; and shall also apply to Networks registered with ICAI granting affiliation to overseas entity(ies). The Guidelines were to come into force from 17th February 2026.
However, the Institute vide Notification dated 13.07.2026 has decided to kept the ICAI (Global Networking) Guidelines 2025 in abeyance until further orders .
- Unsigned document has no validity or veracity and cannot be a basis for levying penalty u/s 271DA – ITAT
- Non issue of notice u/s 143(2) for even belated ITR filed u/s 148 makes assessment void ab initio
- Calculation of functional disability depends on victim’s earning capacity in open market – SC
- Appeal against ITAT shall lie only before High Court within whose jurisdiction AO is situated
- SC recommends action against Customs Officer who relied upon AI generated fake case laws
