Finance Minister asks Infosys to solve problems faced in e-filing portal without further loss of time
Right from the launch of new income tax efiling portal, on 7th June 2021 it has succumbed to technical glitches and users/taxpayers are finding it very difficult to ensure the due compliances
A meeting was held between senior officers of Finance Ministry & Infosys on 22.06.2021 on issues in new Income Tax e-filing Portal. The meeting was presided over by Finance Minister.
Secretary Revenue and Chairman, CBDT and other CBDT members/officials attended the meeting, along with Sh. Salil Parekh, MD & CEO & Sh. Praveen Rao, COO of Infosys and representatives of ICAI, AIFTP who joined online
As per official twitter handle of Finance Minister, she emphasized that enhanced taxpayer service is an important priority for the present Govt & every effort should be made to amplify the same. She exhorted Infosys to make the portal more humane & user friendly.
It is stated that FM expressed her deep concern on the problems being faced by stakeholders & asked Infosys to address all issues, improve their services & redress grievances without further loss of time as it was impacting taxpayers adversely.
It is reported that Infosys stated that several of the technical issues had already been resolved & assured that the other glitches would be resolved within a week. The specific timelines shared by Infosys would be placed in public domain subsequently.
