ICAI cancels/restores membership of thousands of CAs due to death/non payment of fee
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has removed the names of 1593 Chartered Accountants from Register of Members with effect from 1st October 2022 on account of non-payment of membership fees. However, ICAI has restored names of 1206 members retrospectively with effect from 1st October 2022.
Further, ICAI has removed the name of one CA Members from the Register of Members of this Institute at his request.
Also, name of 83 Chartered Accountants has been removed on account of their death.
Also, ICAI has in exercise of the powers conferred by Regulation 19 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations 1988, on payment of arrears of fees restored names of the 428 CAs with effect from the various dates.
Name of the one CA has been cancelled with effect from 01/10/2022 on account of non payment of annual fees for Certificate of Practice (CoP).
Also, ICAI has cancelled the Certificate of Practice issued to 326 CAs who do not desire to hold their CoP.
